This site is dedicated to the memory of Laura Trayford.

Anyone who knew Laura knows that she was a brave and selfless person who, after a year of fighting Ovarian Cancer, sadly lost her battle. Because of that selflessness, Laura would want as many people as possible to learn from her experience and to spread awareness in order to improve the survival rates amongst women who suffer with Ovarian Cancer. With that in mind, ‘old’ mate Steve Rowe is training hard to compete in South Africa's Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. This is the world's largest individually timed cycle race – and the first event outside Europe to be included in the International Cycling Union's Golden Bike Series – This is a particular tough race as most of the ride is up hill and around the Cape Peninsular which often experience winds so strong it can stop you whilst in full flight! Especially if the wind catches you over the famous and beautiful Chapmans Peak. The race attracts over 35 000 cyclists tackling a 109km route around Cape Town that is as spectacular as it is gruelling. But to make things even more challenging Steve has decided to participate in this event on a Mountain bike instead of the more suited road bike (Mad dogs and Englishmen?) Traditionally staged on the second Sunday of March, this is South Africa's biggest one-day sporting event and is fast becoming a major international drawcard – foreign entries topped 5,000 in 2009, and is increasing year on year. He says: "It would be great if we could harness a fund raising campaign in memory of Laura” http://www.sa-venues.com/events/westerncape/cape-argus-cycle-tour/
